Sometimes you may want to update a property for all columns and tables associated with a schema.
The Cascade Update function is a quick alternative way to perform this type of bulk update task.
You can only perform cascade update on Schemas and Tables. When you perform a cascade update on a schema, all tables and columns that are part of the schema will be updated.
How to perform a Cascade Update?
Navigate to the Profile Page of the schema or table that you want to udpate.
Step 1) Click on the Options button at the top right corner
Step 2) Click on Cascade Update
Step 3) Select all of the Properties that you would like to update and confirm the changes you would like to make
Step 4) Click Next
Step 5) Review the changes and data assets that will be updated. After you are comfortable with the updates, click Confirm
Step 6) Your job to perform Cascade Update will be submitted and you will be notified via email when the results are ready.
Viewing previous Cascade Update jobs
You can view all previous Cascade Update jobs by navigating to My Application Results → Jobs → Bulk Update
