This page explains how to set which roles can edit data assets (assign domains verified use cases, set classification, link Owners and Stewards) and link them (upstream, downstream, replacement).


Overview of Role Settings

Platform Settings Property

Ability granted for roles added to this profile

Recommended Roles

Profile_edit_roles

Ability to manage which roles can manage a data and content profile. This setting grants the user the ability to change the verified use case, classification, owner, steward etc.

  • kada_user

  • kada_data_gov

  • kada_data_manager

  • kada_admin

Profile_link_roles

Ability to link an item to another item. Links can be used to correct missing lineage or create replacement links.

By default kada_business_users are not assigned to either edit or link role.


Editing Role Settings

  • Select Platform Settings in the side bar and click on Platform Settings

  • Scroll down to locate

  • In the pop-out side panel, under User Management click on Users

  • Click on Edit to open the edit pop-up

    • When adding multiple roles, make sure you separate each role with a comma and no spaces (e.g. kada_user,kada_business_user)

  • Make the changes to the roles and click Save
